Innovative Stiffshell Module Design for Offshore Accommodation

The Sabratha Living Quarter project represents a milestone in offshore accommodation engineering, commissioned by AGIP GAS BV Libyan and executed through ROSETTI MARINO FRANZ ISELLA. TECON was responsible for the detailed structural design of this sophisticated living quarter module, demonstrating advanced engineering capabilities in challenging offshore environments.

Located on the Sabratha platform approximately 190 meters offshore Libya in deep water conditions, this project required innovative structural solutions to accommodate 120 personnel while maintaining the highest safety and comfort standards. The living quarter needed to withstand harsh marine conditions while providing a stable, secure environment for extended offshore operations.

Project Scope

TECON’s comprehensive engineering services encompassed the complete detailed design of the living quarter module, integrating accommodation facilities, structural systems, and helideck infrastructure. The project required meticulous attention to weight optimization, structural integrity, and compliance with international offshore standards.

• Six-floor modular structure providing comprehensive accommodation and facilities for 120 personnel
• Overall dimensions of 41.3m length × 20.0m width × 24.6m height, optimized for installation and operation

• Integrated octagonal helideck with 22.3m width for safe helicopter operations in all weather conditions
